How we choose materials, and what to expect from an order.
Every piece in the catalog earns its spot by how it behaves after weeks of real cooking: does a skillet's seasoning hold, does a board resist warping, does a lid actually seal. We test each product in a working kitchen before it's listed, not just under studio light.
Where a process matters — hand-hammering a wok, glazing a bowl in small batches, seasoning cast iron twice before shipping — we describe it on the product page rather than treating it as a footnote.
We favor materials with a long working life over ones that look new the longest: cast iron and carbon steel that improve with seasoning, stoneware and porcelain dense enough to resist chipping, hardwoods and marble chosen for grain and weight rather than finish alone.
Every product page lists the exact material, dimensions, and weight, along with care instructions specific to that material — a cast iron skillet and a glass storage set are cared for very differently, and we don't paper over that with generic advice.
Orders ship from US warehouses within two business days. Delivery typically takes three to six business days across the continental US. Orders over $75 ship free; orders under that threshold add a flat $7.50 shipping charge.
Unused items in original condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Seasoned cast iron and any item used for cooking is final sale once it has touched food, for hygiene reasons.
Cookware is covered against manufacturing defects for one year from delivery. This does not cover normal wear, seasoning loss, or damage from dishwasher use on hand-wash-only pieces.
